The Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Centre in India recently put out a warning that temperatures would dip dangerously close freezing. In response they received a much appreciated donation of sweaters that could only be described as XXXXXXXL. These massive, toasty sweaters were hand-knit by woman in a village near the city of Mathura. The jumpers were a massive project for the villagers who devoted months of effort to their completion. The Care Centre rescues elephants from terrible circumstances and currently “houses 20 elephants that have been rescued from illegal captivity, trafficking mafia, exploited for street begging and circuses where they were abused and subjected to extreme cruelty.”
It’s always nice when something reminds you that there’s still some good in the world.
