Sometimes the best comedy flows naturally from imitation of the everyday. This is something that Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters in Atlanta, Georgia seems to understand well. The small, no-kill animal shelter recently produced a hilarious commercial that was shot in about half an hour and was entirely improvised. The commercial mimics the style of ubiquitous daytime used car dealership T.V. advertisements to a T. Except, instead of cars they’re selling animals. Needless to say, it’s become quite a hit.
The star is local Atlantan Paul Preston who is not a professional comedian or personality at all. In fact, he works as a contractor for a rental property management company. The woman who appears in the video is his sister Helen. What I love about this video is its honest sincerity and sense of fun. It’s an entertaining little commercial for a great cause; what’s not to love?
